The Regional Preparatory Meeting for WTDC-25 for Africa (RPM-AFR), 8 to 9 April 2025, Nairobi, Kenya.
TheRegional Preparatory Meetings (RPMs) ( https://www.itu.int/itu-d/meetings/wtdc25/rpm/ )aim at engaging the membership in the preparations of theWorld Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) ( https://www.itu.int/itu-d/meetings/wtdc25/ )in order to achieve regional coordination before the conference itself. They also seek to identify issues at the regional level that need to be addressed to foster the development of telecommunications and ICTs, taking into account the most pressing needs faced by the Member States and Sector Members of the region. Outcomes of RPMs areconsolidated at the inter-regional coordination meeting and discussed at TDAG 2025. The outcomes ofTDAG ( https://www.itu.int/en/ITU-D/Conferences/TDAG/Pages/default.aspx )are submitted toWTDC ( https://www.itu.int/itu-d/meetings/wtdc25/ )as draft documents for consideration.
As agreed by the majority of the ITU Member States, WTDC-25 will take place in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan from 17 to 28 November 2025.
In 2025, each RPM will be preceded by aRegional Development Forum (RDF) ( https://www.itu.int/itu-d/meetings/rdf/ ).
The Regional Preparatory Meeting for WTDC-25 for Africa (RPM-AFR) takes place from 8 to 9 April 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya.
It is preceded, on 7 April, by the Regional Development Forum.
Both events are organized at the kind invitation of the Communication Authority of Kenya.
